TRAINING

Skyler’s private security training services

According to KPMG, Industry consultations suggest that private security guard supply is likely to grow at a CAGR of 10% over the next decade. In absolute numbers, approximately 70 lakhs to 1M individuals are added to the pool every year. Of this only, 20% is expected through the organized supply (compliant with PSAR training requirements and those who are likely to stay from more than one year). Current levels of attrition stand at 40% for untrained guards whereas, 15% for trained guards. The numbers are likely to remain the same over the next decade. However, more guards were expected to get trained in the direction in which the industry is eyeing to take.

India’s Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, 2005 (PSARA), is aimed at improving private security standards by issuing licenses to security companies. It sets minimum standards for security guards, such as 160 hours of training before deployment. Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, 2005 (PSARA) has made it obligatory for Private security agencies to impart formal training to its guards.
